My first post - slow words for a fast world

Hi there,

Since this is my first post, a quick introduction feels right. I wanted to create a safe space – somewhere I can share things without unnecessary fear of judgment. A place people can visit to see/read/listen if they want to. If you hate it? Well, don't visit then. ;)

Lately, I've been doubting online platforms like Facebook and Instagram. They feel too instant, too fragmented – pictures swallowed in seconds, meaning fades and feelings disappear too quickly, lost in the endless scroll, jostling against a thousand unrelated topics. It makes my mind spin and desensitizes my senses. While they “can” be amazing tools, I craved something slower, deeper, with more dimensions. That's how I landed here: creating this blog as a space for reflection and sharing beyond the 5-second glance.

More than anything, this is a place for me to write. I've discovered writing helps me untangle my thoughts. It is true, to write here is to hold one's breath: “Will someone read this?” If so, my words demand both conscience and care. But this responsibility guides my quest for language — and through the words I find, I gain new eyes to gaze upon myself. It's also my way of connecting, of sharing what’s inside me.

(And yes, English isn't my mother tongue. It’s not a language I wield with total freedom or confidence... but why not try?)

I would, for example, like to share what I do, especially my musical journey and thoughts. My initial and ultimate goal remains to speak through horse hair and the wooden box (certainly a typical expression from my Prof. Schmidt) through fingers, hands, and body, but maybe sometimes, words (even imperfect ones) can pave the way, or walk beside it.

I also want to share my playing someday. It definitely takes more courage than writing, for so many unknown reasons. But I’ll probably try ;). Right now, my YouTube channel sits empty, even with the link waiting here. When I finally gather the courage to share something? We’ll celebrate with champagne.

And I won’t only write "serious shit" or professional updates. I want to share books that touched me, films that stayed with me, concerts that inspire, cute animals, and good food. Let’s see how this unfolds. Will it be random? Probably. Bullshit? Maybe sometimes! But hopefully, it'll be real.

Thanks for reading this first step. It means a lot.

To start things off, I'm sharing some recent photos and the program notes from my Master's recital this past May. You will find them linked below. It was an experience packed with meaning – good, bad, and in every direction in between.

Have a beautiful day wherever you are!

Hugs,

Yuko

This picture above was taken at the farewell party for my wonderful professor, Adelina Oprean on the 27th of June, 2025.
And the first picture with the cute dog was taken during the masterclass of Clive Brown a few weeks ago. <3
